NEW DELHI: A  laptop with a SIM card -- after smartphones and the 4G feature phone -- could be the next big bet for  Reliance Jio in its bid to increase its average revenue per user (ARPU). The Mukesh Ambani-led Jio has held talks with US chip major  Qualcomm  to bring out laptops running the Windows 10 operating system with built-in cellular connections for the Indian market. Qualcomm is already closely working with Jio and Reliance Retail for the 4G feature phone. “…we have talked to Jio. They could take the device and bundle it with data and content,”  Miguel Nunes , senior director, product management, Qualcomm Technologies, told ET. The chipmaker is also talking to home-bred Internet of Things (IoT) brand  Smartron  to bring the Snapdragon 835-powered laptops with cellular connectivity. Smartron confirmed the talks. 7th Pay Commission: Higher Minimum Pay for Central Government Employees?

National Anomaly Committee (NAC) was formed regarding the pay related anomalies that arose out of the implementation of the recommendations of the 7 th Pay Commission. It would recommend a hike in minimum pay soon and fitment factor beyond the recommendations of the 7 th CPC. The government has modified the definition of pay anomaly in a major development, which allows the NAC to take any decision of pay anomaly that was not taken by the 7 th CPC. However, on March 6, P Radhakrishnan, Minister of State Finance, made a mention that the government was not considering a hike in minimum pay of the central government employees and fitment factor beyond the 7 th  CPC’s recommendations. On October 30, 2017, a letter was issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) stating that the demand for increasing the minimum pay and fitment factor has not been treated as an anomaly, and therefore does not come under NAC’s purview. UIDAI launches virtual identification number feature allowing users to generate a VID to safeguard their Aadhaar numbers

However, it does not mention how it intends to launch a VID who do not have access to the internet. To generate the VID, existing Aadhaar holders can visit the  UIDAI website , locate 'Aadhaar services' in the 'Aadhaar Online Services' section and click on the option 'Virtual Identification (VID) Generator'. Next, the users need to fill in their Aadhaar number and write the given security code. On submitting the details, an OTP is sent to the user for authentication. After authentication, the user receives his or her virtual identification number on their registered mobile number or emails. The virtual identification number can be generated multiple times, and each time it generates a new VID, the previous one becomes invalid. According  to  The Economic Times , a beta
