Nokia 8 price leaked ahead of official launch

NEW DELHI: HMD Global is all geared up to launch its latest Nokia branded Android smartphone - Nokia 8 on August 16. The company has scheduled an event in London, where it will unveil the device. Two weeks before its launch, a new leak about the pricing of the smartphone has surfaced online.
According to a leaked document of Vodafone Romania, Nokia 8 will be priced at Euro 520, which translates to Rs 39,3174. If the rumoured price is accurate, then this will be costliest Android powered Nokia smartphone.

According to earlier rumours and leaks on the Web, Nokia 8 will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The smartphone recently made an appearance on Geekbench smartphone benchmarking website, revealing some of its key specifications. The benchmark listing suggests that Nokia 8 will sport a 5.3-inch QHD screen. It could be powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 835 processor, clubbed with 4GB/6GB RAM. The dual camera setup is expected to have two 13MP sensors.

The smartphone will come with dual rear camera setup powered by Carl Zeiss optics and will come in Blue, Steel, Gold/Blue, and Gold/Copper colour options. Various leaked images of the yet-to-be launched Nokia 8 reveal that the smartphone will sport a vertical dual rear camera setup. Nokia 8 will sport a dual curved display with minimal bezels on the top and bottom -- similar to LG G6 and Galaxy S8. At the top, there will be the usual set of sensors and the speaker grille, while the bottom area will have the 'Nokia' logo. It will have speakers on both sides and a USB Type-C port in the middle.

The 3.5mm audio jack is on the top. The display of the device will consist of capacitive keys and a physical home button which will double up as a fingerprint sensor. This will be first Nokia branded Android smartphone to come with Carl Zeiss optics. The metal unibody smartphone is said to have four holes in the camera ring—one for flash, two for sensors and the last one for laser autofocus.
